Pre-Primary

The pre-primary school phase is like the foundation of a building. It sets the tone for a child's educational journey, focusing not just on academics but also on social and emotional development. It's where curiosity is sparked, friendships blossom, and the joy of discovery begins.

Children are constantly learning from what they observe. What they see and know during these tender ages mould them into the individuals they become. Our education should help them become directors, scriptwriters, and actors of their plays.

Pre Primary Education can be defined as “a set of knowledge along with skills and experience as well as behavioral rules which provides the essential for coping successfully in everyday life and at school.” This is acquired at a child care institution.

The subjects which are taught at Pre Primary level of School Academics for holistic developments are:

English Language & Text:

• In English Language children at this stage learn the phonic sounds which are related to accent of 2 to 3 letter words and gradually it goes on for 5 to 6 letters. Where as in text they start reading and learning the sentences from the prescribed text books.

Mathematics:

• In Mathematics children grasp the knowledge of Numerals from 1-100 and develop oral, writing and counting capabilities

EVS (Environmental Studies):

• Environmental Studies means to acquire the knowledge of nature where they study about plants, animals, fruits, flowers, physical features of the surrounding, Sun –who gives us light and energy, clouds, Rain, Water etc.

General Knowledge:

• About parts of the body, Digestive system, names of the fingers, tooth, Different system of body organs, Personal Hygiene our great freedom fighters, prayers, National Anthem, Patriotic songs, Pledge etc.

Story Telling by Sowcasing

• Students take the initiative to bring their favourite toy/ object to the class and describe it. This helps them develop their speaking skills, and build their vocabulary.

Painting, Colouring, Arts & Crafts

• Students tap into their creativity and explore ideas by producing collages, finger prints, block prints, vegetable prints and tissue paper art.

Interactive Play

• Play helps children develop and improve their gross and fine motor skills, coordination and concentration. It teaches them to work cooperatively and collaboratively, using all their senses to discover and explore their environment, and develop their imagination, creative thinking, problem solving skills and experiment with solutions.

Rhymes & Action Songs

• Singing songs and reciting poems and rhymes helps children develop early literacy skills. Keeping a steady beat develops language. Clapping hands, stamping feet, and using rhythm instruments in line with music develops important pre-reading skills. Young children recognize words, sounds, rhythms, tones, and pitch long before they talk, sing, or dance. So, the more music the children have in their lives, the better they will speak and read.

We genuinely consider that child learning is huge outside the classroom. So, we have meticulously designed activities where the inherent talents and interests of the individual child come to the forefront. This helps the school and parents to train them accordingly for the maximum benefit of the child, which helps in building self-esteem and self-confidence in every individual child.

We believe that laying a strong foundation at the Pre-Primary level is key to better performance at the Primary level. Keeping the very young learners in mind, the school designed a child-centric curriculum that equips them with all the necessary skills in the areas of language, math, drawing, etc. The methodologies used in imparting the knowledge are based on play-way techniques through group activities.
